wire Singapore and Tube Singapore 2005, Southeast Asia’s leading trade fair for the wire, cable, tube and pipes industries were jointly held in Singapore from 20 to 22 September 2005. Held for the sixth and fifth time respectively, the trade fairs attracted a joint participation of 285 exhibiting companies from 31 countries and economies. The increase in the number of overall attendees signifies a new optimism in the region’s manufacturing and infrastructure development sectors.

wire Singapore/Tube Singapore played host to a total of 4,502 quality trade visitors from across 66 countries who turned out in force to source new products and learn about the latest trends and developments. The visitor attendance represented an increase of approximately 11 percent in comparison to the 2003 trade fairs. 56 percent of the visitors came from outside Singapore. Southeast Asia (excluding Singapore) accounted for almost 35 percent of the visitors with strong representation from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. This is a clear indication that visitors from these countries are keeping pace with cost-effective technologies to boost their manufacturing capabilities and infrastructure development. The number of visitors from the latter 3 countries increased their visibility at this year’s wire Singapore/Tube Singapore recording a considerable increase in attendance between 13 to 50 percent compared to the 2003 statistics.
